Divorced and Separated Catholics: Are divorced and separated Catholics allowed to join the Directory?  "Yes" provided everthing is honest and upfront and they are not planning to missuse the Directory to find a sexual relationship that was contrary to the teachings of the Church.  For a much fuller treatment of this question click here.

Logging-in Problems (I'm a member and have a user name and password but can't log-in) New members occasionally report problems with logging in.  This is almost always a problem with the set up at their end.  It’s not unknown for security and other issues to cause problems with logging in, but it is invariably something that can be fixed.

Before anything else, try logging in via the page http://www.cathud.com/login.asp

If that also does not work, check the following:

Elementary steps

1. Make sure that the user name and password fields are completely empty before you start typing.
2. Note that your username is case sensitive so if your user name is all lower case, make sure that you are not using any capital letters.
3. If your password was provided to you and is a numeric nine digit one, ensure that you type all “0”s as zeros, not the letter “O”

If the above elementary steps do not work, please try the following:

1. In Internet Explorer, Click on Tools (should be on the main menu bar, or on the right hand side, with an icon of a gear)
2. Click on Internet Options in the drop down menu.  A pop up dialog box will appear.
3. On this, click on the Security tab
4. Then click on the Trusted Sites icon in the list of zones at the top
5. Then click on the sites button just below this.
6. Ensure there is NO tick in the option button at the bottom entitled “require server verification” – if there is, click it to remove the tick.
7. Then go to the dialog box at the top entitled “add this website to the zone” and type in http://www.cathud.com in this box and then click on the Add button
8. This address should now appear in the list of Websites below.
9. Click on Close and then on OK.  Now try again to log in, hopefully it will now work.

Further assistance
If you still have problems, it is possible that something is blocking the cookie that the site uses to verify your log on.  If you are still experiencing trouble, please provide us with the following information so that we can offer further assistance:

1. Internet Browser and version (eg. Internet Explorer 7, AOL 9, etc)
2. Any security software installed (Norton, McAfee, etc)
3. Operating System (Windows XP, Vista

Photos – Can I include a photo in my profile?  Yes.  Once you have joined, you will be given the opportunity to add up to five pictures to your profile. This is not compusory, but is an option that many members appreciate.   If you have digital photos, you can upload these FREE.   Alternatively contact us and we will be pleased to scan your photos in for you.

Privacy - How is my privacy protected?  We do not include your surname, address or telephone number in the Directory.  If you have an email address, we only include it with your permission.
